Official documents

As prospective primary teachers, we are expected to be used to the official papers.
The approach that the professor took this time was different since instead of giving us a lecture, she let us know the educational laws through a worksheet. I liked it because it allowed us to learn how to find the needed information, to get use to the structure of the document and also to know the main important ideas, that otherwise we would have forgotten after the class. From my point of view, the fact that we were the ones who had the information, gave us the chance follow our own rythms of learning. For instance, people who were used to the main points of the curriculum were able to go in depth, whereas others who were not familiar with it, were able to explore it and get acquainted with it. In addition, we had to work in groups which made the work more enjoyable, because the work with laws is always tough.

Regarding the content itself, I would like to talk about how sometimes the law differs from reality. Reading the different objectives that are required for each cycle I realized that although the content is the same, the objectives get more difficult year after year. It seems really obvious that a 6-year-old child won't be able to do the same things that a 11-year-old one. Nevertheless, this is a problem for me as a basketball manager because in the school where I am working I have children from the three cycles altogether. After knowing the curricular objectives in each cycle, it is evident that I cannot ask the same to all the students. However, the fifteen of them have to play together and I have to prepare the games so as to make them neither very difficult nor really easy for the oldest ones. This is a problem also while explaining some fundamental motor skills related to basketball, since not all have had enough time to develop the motor patterns. What it is undeniable is that all the children will be benefit from the physical practice that are doing, nonetheless, it is always the same question: won't it be better for them to be with people of more or less their same physical condition rather than saving some money and "passing the buck" to the teachers who won't be able to give them an education according to their needs?
